Rat Forums?

Thanks, I definitely will! And my only thing, do they drop little pee drops every where?
Yes male rats will leave little pee drops here and there when out of the cage. I just cover my sofa with an old blanket when I let him out to play. It's not a whole lot, doesn't stink and is easy to clean up. It's really not that bad at all. I actually prefer male rats to females because they are more docile. You can opt to have them nuetered, but I never have.

Thanks! That's good to know. I really wanted some a few years ago but then the pee thing kind of turned me off from them aha that doesn't sound too bad though.

I have two pet rats, Melissa and Rose I put their names together to make my username. Melissa is a black hooded rat, she looks kinda like your rat and Rose is a brown hooded rat.

That's good! I guess I was just thinking if I let him on my arms or lap or something aha

Yes males are prone to leaving little pee drops but they're not a huge issue IMO. I would carry my rats in my sleeves or the hood of a sweatshirt but they rarely left behind wet spots or puddles or anything that would be obvious (if they were going to pee, they usually climbed on my foot and peed there, I have no idea why). They can also learn to not poop on you for the most part, as long as you give them breaks every 10-15 min when you have them out.

Lol. I've yet to be pooped on. Only had to change clothing once due to pee pee! :p
