I also dont believe chocolate is as toxic to dogs as said. I once had a Vizsla who ate an entire bucket of Halloween candy. Didnt faze her one bit. She also ate my giant easter chocolate bunny and valentine's candy. Ruined all of my holidays.

I had a GSP that got an entire platter of Easter chocolate once. He slept it off.

We had a puppy 12 years ago that at a king sized dark chocolate Hershey bar. We wondered if that caused her diabetes her last year, but other than that she never showed any I'll effects besides a tiny belly ache the following morning

My husband once said that if it was really poison then why dont they avoid it? Dude, they eat their own poop, they eat other dogs poop, but you think theyll pass up on chocolate?

Chocolate isn't toxic to rats. I had a pet rat once that loved Hershey's chocolate syrup. He ate it for over a year. Never hurt him but he did turn into a crackhead for it.

Theobromine is lower in most common chocolate.

Very true. My husband had a super smart dog growing up. He thought all dogs were that way and was in for a shock when our Viszla was a compete air head.
