That's why I have stated at several times, I am not brave enough to hatch ducks.  I unquestionably take my healthy (hopefully) day old shipment. Calls are one of the hardest to hatch, so this is part of the process.  I feel your devastation and I salute your bravery.

Thank you, Tony... they are hard and exhausting to hatch... devastating for sure in the losses, but great rewards too... like this...

Unconditional love and priceless trust... it gets no better than that...

IO is my God duck. I named her. Please note how sweet and cute she is. She is an awesome mother birb. I have a question. How did her tinyness of child bird hop up on top of her? Is baby super springy? Baby Duck has little webs. That's what makes her a duck and then the feathers make her a birb.

Well, I tried to get a better comparison picture for the size difference between Zilla (which is short for Godzilla, lol, don't think I said that here; my mother named him that after seeing him towering over his Call ducklings). Of course because I wanted them to stand near each other they were difficult and did not But, these pictures still give a good idea of the size difference:

Burrrrrr! That's a lot of snow! I bet you could get some great December & January pix for next years calendars.

Yes I do And Zilla loves his Calls. They grew up together:

He loves his ducks. They live together in the coop and do very well. I've never had issues with my geese and my ducks getting along. Zilla will hopefully get a girlfriend this year and the pair will live with the Calls.
