RedHen- I PM'D you...
As for RAW for dogs, most dogs only need about 2-3% of their ideal adult body weight, depending on activity level. For example my 8 1/2 year old American Bulldog (approx 80lb)who is very lazy only needs 1-1.5 lbs of food a day and my 1 1/2 year old Bullmastiff (approx 100lb) who is also rather lazy only gets 2-2.5lbs of food per day. BUT a more active dog would require more food. When starting with RAW only use one meat source for the first 2 weeks, then SLOWLY add in variety. They can pretty much eat any meat source (BONE IN) except large weight bearing bones. ALL BONES SHOULDN"T BE COOKED!!! As this causes a change in the bone structure (chicken bones get very brittle and splinter when cooked but raw they are kinda rubbery) RAW is excellent for dogs with allergies. My dogs rarely need bathed (and they dont stink) They poop very little and it literally disapears in days, their teeth and coats are clean and shiny!
