Wow, this takes me back. My dad traded eggs from our dozens of chickens for milk from one of his employees who had 12 kids and dairy cattle; I haven't liked pasturized milk since then. I love raw honey, eat produce straight out of the garden (without washing it - yikes!), love wild game (venison especially). I eat sashimi sushi, steaks rare, lamb & salmon medium-rare, and even like my pork a little pink. Chicken - still like it well done, LOL.
I know how I raise my flock. I make homemade mayonnaise, caesar dressing, a wonderful mint chocolate mousse pie, etc with my fresh, raw eggs. They have never made me sick. I also often work outdoors in heat, cold, sun, rain, even snow. None of that has ever made me sick, either - sometimes I wish I could use it as an excuse!
I believe allergies exist, but I also believe if we sanitize everything for our kids and grandkids, they will grow up with little immunity to the things many of us deal with every day. I know people half my age on three or four medications. I don't take any prescription drugs. Again, I know some things need to be treated, but maybe not as much as we're led to believe. Just my opinion.
