Someone told me once, that it HURTS when the feather shafts start growing. Birds get achy and tender to the touch so the last thing they want is to be touched or cuddled until those shafts are well into growth. It makes since since all my birds, ducks or chickens seem to go through the crabby nasty phase when they first start feathering.

I'm gonna try my best to find all the boys good pet/breeding homes so i am really hoping there's not too many!

That's nice to know...makes sense now that even the ducky who is the sweetest (first to greet me) squawked REALLY loud when I had to pick her up.

It was like I hurt her although I KNOW I did it gently...guess she was achey. Poor babies.
