Rcom 20: Best place to buy one?

Anybody ever watch Blazing Saddles? Do you remember the part where the saloon girl sang that song, "I'm So Tired."? Well, THAT IS ME! I've been up 24/7 watching the temps on my LG and I'm so tired.

So, I'm looking at the Rcom 20 incubator. I hear it is foolproof, idiot proof, and Orange Ribbon proof. (Oh, I sure hope it is anyway.) I was wondering if you all could give me your thoughts as to a good place to buy it from who also happens to have the best price. The lowest price I've found so far is $409.00 I can't find too many places that sells them though.

I looked on ebay, but they didn't have any that I could find. Unless they sell them outside the "Pet Supply" section. My computer is so slow on this dial up I can't look at everything I want to.

Anyway, thanks for any input. I appreciate it a whole bunch.

$409 was the lowest price I could find, too. Looks like about the best you're going to do.

The R-Com Suro 20 is a bit cheaper if your interested but I don't know how it compares to the other.

I have an R-com 20. I forgot where I ended up buying it from and my records are at school. It works great. That price sounds about right. I didn't buy the egg tray and it didn't come with it. I will probably buy one, but the dividers worked well. It is easy to clean and operate. The only problem I had is the surface is slippery, so I put a plastic shelf liner down, so my chicks didn't slip. It looks like they might sell something now. Good luck.

I also have a R-Com Suro for my classroom. It works great too. I have some turkey eggs in mine now. It is more like the Brinsea and sets on a cradle. I got the humidifier package with mine. Advantages of the R-Com 20 is there is a big plastic window on top and you can look down and see everything that is going on there is nothing blocking your view. The turner is more natural, as you lay the eggs on their side and it rolls them, just like their mom would do. You pour the water into the incubator on the outside so you don't have to open the lid and lose the humidity. The advantage of the Suro 20 over the R-Com 20 is that the humidity pump sets outside of the incubator and runs to a bottle of water that you provide, so it can be any size, and you can probably leave it for a few days if you go on a trip and not worry about the water running out. I hope that helps. I have had 100% hatch both units so I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

I saw on your other post where someone recommended that brand, so I quickly looked it up. My jaw dropped when I saw the price tag. I does look awesome, but way out of my price range. I have an old hovabator still air 1602 and It work great. I also have a hova 1588 forced air and it is really good. In my dreams I would like r-com, but not until I win the lottery!

can you tell me what temp. adjuster you have on the incubator if its the electronic one it dosent work or at least none i have had did i change them to a snap switch and wafer the best cheep system ever made. if you are having trouble if you tell me what its doing exactly i can get it to work for you

I saw the "Suro" model when I was googling about the Rcom 20. Everything is external. I'd recommend against it, it will have the same issues I've faced Brinsea's Octagon 20 Advanced EX.

I have 2 of the Brinsea advanced EX with the external cradle, external humidity pump.

I have issues now with the apparatus. All of the external parts have cords that tangle, hoses and power supplies that can pull out. Last week, the hose and cord of the humidity unit got tangled in the turner, and pulled the entire thing off the desktop in the middle of the night. I lost an entire incubator full, about 24 eggs total, 3 of which were goose eggs. I've gotten tangled in the cords more times than I care to mention. If you need to move the unit, its very awkward because of all of the external parts.

I regret now that I decided to go with Brinsea instead of the Rcom 20. Everything is internal. The are almost exactly the same price. If I had to do it again, I'd go with the Rcom.

the one I got holds 24 eggs, it was about 600 but has everything you neeed. My dad got it for me so not sure where heordered it from. Good luck
