33 cases and two deaths from tetanus in 2021. That's one in 10,000,000. Tetanus isn't the big risk; infection is. In people over 50, gangrene hits about 1 in 100; people aged 70+, it increases to 1 in 50. There are many bacteria that can cause an infection and most can lead to gangrene or even sepsis. In people who are hospitalized for gangrene, the mortality rate is 6-7%.Tetanus shots are recommended every ten years so you should be okay.
Personally, I'd see a doc and I'm the type of person who stitches his own wounds so long as I can reach it and there's no arterial pumping. If you roll the dice, be sure to monitor the wound and see a doctor for any redness, swelling, warmth, seeping or ANY indication that it's developing an infection or not healing properly.
Also, crockpot the rooster.
