As far as the original question goes. I am a hugh
ebay seller of hatching eggs. We go the extra mile in boxing and packing so there is no way possible for the guys to be injured IF the p.o. acts resposibbly! BUT folks, I have to pay for all that stuff, TAPE SHARPIES, PEANUTS, BUBBLE WRAP, LABLES ETC, not to mention
ebay and paypal fees. Last year alone were 3 grand!
We charge $12 for 6 , $15 for 12 and $20 for 24.
And lose money on every box still, so dont be so quick to pass judgemnt on you sellers price until you have done it for a few years yourself.
I use the flate rate boxes, simply because, I know every time what to charge, I dont have time to try to save 50 cents by useing the other boxes. The only time I DO use the standard box, is if you are within a few hundred miles of us, then yes, it is worth it then.
But always be ware that the price on that little ol P.O. sticker is NO WHERE near what it actually cost to get them to you safely. And in the end, isnt that what really matters?
You can always use the cheap guy and get scrambled eggs on arrival, BUT what have you accomplished then?
I beleave our rates are more than fair, but some of you are right, some folks out there do over charge for shipping. Just use your own judgement and decide what a safely packed egg is worth to you.
Is IT a 50 cent mix breed egg or a $200 a dozen set of merriam turkey eggs?
