Welcome! I raise american gamefowl myself and am no stranger to the breeds you have! Glad to see more people joining who raise these awesome birds!
I used to ride to Hugh Norman's house in Tennessee with my granddaddy and sit in the truck when my granddaddy would fill up the truck with chickens on the back and make me hold chickens and my two ants they're still alive they would hold chickens too my grandma would have to hold chickens. You had the best White House in the world if you left hue Norman's house and he gave you his good stuff. He told my Papa he didn't let but three people get his good chickens one of them was Roger tanton Tennessee one of them was my granddaddy and I forget the other one's name. I'm 45 now I've had this chicken since I was Born

I am new to the site and thought I would say hello- I am 47 and been "chicken crazy for 40 of those years. I remember sitting on a milk crate and watching the chickens come off the roost until they went back on the roost. My grandpa told me "Dem chikins gonna be the ruination of you boy! Jest aint natural! I guess he was right,as it did have considerable impact on two failed marriages.
My obsession with fowl may be of benefit to some of you. There is little I havent seen in 40 years from breeding {I use to spend two hours a month at a cost of $60 a hour to sit and discuss breeding techniques with famed poultry geneticist Hugh Norman For a year when I was 16] to care and management of farms with excess of a thousand birds. The fowl I raise are gamefowl, the Honorable Judge Walter A. Kelso fowl, the Honorable Judge Dehner Racy mugs, the Honorable Judge Earnest Lacy roundheads, and a strain of greys that trace back to their original importer, President Thomas Jefferson. A strain of whitehackles that once passed through the hands of Andrew Jackson and were fought in the pit at the original White House., and a strain of Arkansas Traveler Blues that date back to the late 1800s. NONE OF MY FOWL ARE FOR SALE AT ANY PRICE! I do choose to give away a few to people I consider worthy of them. I am honored by their beauty, integrity, character and history daily. I will Not enter into any discussion about cockfighting, PERIOD. I look forward to helping whoever I can
Is it true Hugh Norman lived in Sidney KY , An Old man gave me his RH bloodline a year or so before he passed , he said they were from the mountains of eastern KY , fast forward 30 yrs and Ive never forgotten those , never truly known where they came from , I always felt they were some of not the best Fowl a man could feed and deserve preservation .
