Was it my recipe?....... What was confusing about the directions?

It was this recipe by BYC Favorites: https://www.backyardchickens.com/recipes/?p=recipe&recipe=289

The
directions called for salt which isn't listed in the ingredients so I had to guess an amount. Then I found it confusing what was supposed to be sprinkled on the rolled out dough vs. what the "topping" was comprised of. Probably just me!

Yes that's my recipe, but I didn't enter it there. Here's a link to the original that I posted here on BYC.

I looked at the recipe and how it was printed in the cookbook and I think it's rather confusing in there too. I can honestly say I hadn't really looked at how it was in the book until tonight......I just use my recipe card!

I have made that sticky bun recipe many times. Though I have been known to put pecans or walnuts in with the syrup in the pan.

Like all of Katy's recipes, you will be pleased with the quality.

Yeah it makes sense in your original post but not in the Recipe section on BYC. I smeared a cup of butter on the dough, then mixed the karo syrup with the brown sugar and patted it into the bottoms of the pans. No where does it mention the topping should be cooked on the stove or even what goes into the topping.

Oh well, they came out good and hubby finished the pan. Oh, it also doesn't say what size pans. I used three round cake pans. Anyway, I am going to try it again from your original post. I don't know if it is too late to fix it on BYC Recipes but it might save someone else some frustration.

Good rolls though. The topping turns into hard candy brittle the way I did it. I think yours would be better.

Thanks,

Mary
