We bought the 250 Watt Red light heat light, I haven't tested it yet but I'm going to test it once I finish the brooder box. I opted for the higher wattage because our house has a built in cooling system, it's a 2 brick victorian, so it's super cool in the summer.

Ugh, went to the co-op today to buy supplies, and someone had not picked up their chicks yet! You're supposed to, and you have to be there at 8AM to pick up your chicks, and no one had showed for these 3 boxes of chicks! Just sitting there, cheeping like crazy.

Then again... I did beg to take home a kitten that was sitting in a cage at the feed pick-up area when I went to go and pick up the electric fencing temp posts (those bigfoot push-in ones), and it was so little and fluffy and cute, and I thought.. hum, Accio would love it, another kitty, and since they'd both be farm kitties they could beat each other up and it wouldn't be like I have a crazy cat.
