My husband got me a record player for our anniversary, it is brand new, as are the records I am playing on it, but IT KEEPS SKIPPING, and it's driving me NUTS!!!

Any one know about these things....or how to make them behave!?!?

It is a self contained Emerson, with cd/tape/am/fm. The kind that looks old fashioned, kinda like an old juke box.

Any help, so I can listen to my records.... Would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

Most newer turntables have a tension adjustment on the arm, It should be either a weight or spring adjustment, it sounds like there is not enough pressure on the needle. Just be careful because if you allow the needle to put too much pressure on the album it can do more damage than good.

I hope this helps

is there a screw at the base of the player arm--i seem to remember an adjustment of some sort on the arm. ooorrr try taping a penny to player head--old school fix.
