I've had my backyard chickens for a year so fairly new. Our rhode island red has had feather loss on her head/back of neck and now front of neck for a few months now. Her new looks reddish. At first I thought it was molting but now as it's been a while I am worried that it is pecking or something else. I haven't noticed the other hens pecking her, and have been trying to keep them outside more so they don't get bored in the coop. We live in MA and it is late spring/summer here.
Any thoughts on what this may be? Thanks! I can't seem to attach a photo but will try.
