red raw spot on newborn chick

i have a day old chick with a raw spot on it's neck/ear. any advice? it hatched 24 hours ago under a broody hen (surrogate). i found it this way next to the eggshell. it doesn't appear to be bleeding. mama doesn't seem to be picking on it. could it have hatched this way? also, do i intervene? the chick doesn't seem that weak (its peeping loudly and scurrying under mom. a bit wobbly on it's legs still).

She accidentally injured it. Leave it with Momma. It will heal quickly.
