Regis didn't know how eggs were made

I missed the interview but then they were reading e-mails/texts/tweets or something sent in by the viewers and one person stated that although it wasn't neccessary to have a rooster, she had two because it made the hens happier and they would lay even more eggs

It's funny how many people think that! My boss (who regularly feels the need to educate me on how chicks develop in the egg) found out that my rooster been killed by a coyote and said, "oh no, will your chickens still lay eggs?!"

Come on people...Regis is acting a part...more than likely he knew. But the show is all about ratings and controversy...so you be the judge!

I have a book about farming/gardening/homestuffs and it actually says "Chickens do not need a rooster in order to lay." and I was like.. wow that rumour is SO strong, they had to actually SAY that? Doesn't anybody take like a single anatomy class, ever? Or pay attention to their own bodies?

It should be a question on "Are U Smarter than a 5th Grader"
cause the majority of people I talk to all think you need a Roo for an Egg.

Its funny I told my niece that there were two types of eggs... eating eggs, and eggs for when baby chicks are born, and those eggs only come at a certain time...

I wonder if some one should have told this to Regis.

Hubby'd left the tv on when he left or I wouldn't have seen the bit I saw (I'm not a fan of R&K), but it seemed to be 'staged' to me.
I think talking up chickens is great, anytime. If the discussion was 'put on' and some folks got educated that you don't need a rooster to get eggs, then fabulous.
A chicken in every yard --- yaaay!
