Relocating

Wasn't sure where to post this so this is probably the wrong forum. My family is think of moving to another state and that would include taking the chickens. How would I keep them calm during the trip and would they need water during it?

I would think separated in dog creates, if possible. Water depends on how far the trip is. 4-5 hours and they'll need a drink.

This would be around an eleven hour drive. So I should get out and give them water or should I leave water in there. The water would splash around if I left it in there.
