Bought this old shelf recently for $30. I could have spent that much for plastic or pressed wood. This is all metal. It will outlast me. 20170727_100301.jpg

Have you noticed how plastic isn't "equal". A lot of it is so poor in quality, that the tubs/whatever are already broken/cracked in the shop. The "decent" stuff costs, but sometimes the "el cheapo" still costs. I'm with you, I go for vintage timber or metal over new. It's amazing how little you pay for quality "old" stuff.

That shelf is really heavy and welded. Its not going to break. I just plain hate how much plastic is being used. I saw a chicken feeder the other day with a plastic handle to hang it by. Like that will last... not! If i have a choice i will choose any material over plastic. I hear they found another giant floating garbage dump full of plastic. It is in the food chain now. and
all the food except organic has round up in it because farmers use so much of it. It stays in the plants and soil. They are ruining the soil for future generations with that crap.

I liked I dream of Jeannie, Bewitched, Barney Miller. Looney Toon cartoons were great.

What was your favorite TV sitcom growing up?

(my smarta*$ phone kept wanting to change sitcom to 'sit on', even it doesn't know what a sitcom is!! lol)

Didn't watch tv until I was a teenager. Loved The Munsters.
Before that I was too busy playing outside, except sunday nights we watched Wild Kingdom.

Sometimes us kids would watch the sitcoms but mostly we were too busy doing other stuff (outside, board games, jigsaw puzzles, sometimes even homework!).

We all (the entire family) loved to watch all the westerns on tv. Bonanza, The Lone Ranger, Maverick, Paladin, etc. If it had cowboys and horses in it, that's what we would watch. After Dad got done watching the 6pm news of course, back when news was really news and not just opinions.

I have several of those feeders with plastic handles, most have broken and been replaced with a small piece of metal chain. Cut open the end links and insert thru the existing tabs. Now i expect the plastic tabs will break next.
