TV? When I was a kid the only thing we could sit down and watch was the gladiator fights. :old
:D We didn't get TV here until later than the USA had it. Before that, people used to listen to the wireless. I don't think young people could get their heads around not only having no tv, but none of the other screens everywhere as well.

I watched a show on tv called "the 1940s house" These people lived like it was the 1940s https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_1940s_House
I reckon it would be good if people could visit a different "time" and see how it is. Stay in a hotel that's all "primitive" or something. I think you might appreciate more of what you have if you don't have it for a little bit.

I very rarely read a whole thread, had to this one :D
My cousin had a '71 mustang fastback, big block, would run around 140mph, never had it topped out roads not straight enough  no power steering and all four drum brakes. It had seat belts but the shoulder belt wasn't retractable, folded up and went into a couple clips on the headliner.

We watched wild kingdom on Sundays as a family. Always watched little house on the prairie with my grandma.
My favorite was the dukes of hazzard
Same here, loved dukes of hazzard.
Little House on the prairie and The Waltons.
Remember spending the night sometimes at the grandparents house, oh boy would they scream at us kids to be quiet, "SHUT UP HEE HAW'S ON!"
Lol, the good ole days :lau

I had a 70 dodge coronet but it was a good car can't complain about it. My brother had a 71 dodge charger. Now that was a ride. Had that pump em at least three times before you use them brakes. That made panic stops great. Pumping the old leg as fast as you could hoping they caught before you died.
Something was wrong with the steering so every so often when you were holding the wheel it would jerk about an 1/8 of a turn but the wheels wouldn't. Just enough. To scare the crap out of you and instinct kicked in and you yanked the wheel back straight that would then turn your wheels so then you'd relieze that and have to ease the wheel back to correct yourself.
Tons of little stuff. Wipers had one setting but it was like random play. Sometimes it was flapping so had they looked like they were gonna fly off then they'd slow down to next to nothing. Fun times when it was pouring and you needed them.
The old crank window where you got about half a turn and the window would fall all the way down.. Then you had to use the old needle nose pliers to pull it back up enough to grab it .

Ah yes...Dukes of Hazzard (and I can tie this in with the parent comment as well). I remember all of us girls wanting to be Daisy and trying to get away with dressing like her. I didn't make it past the front door before Mom intervened...sternly...and that's understating it. Long skirts and knee socks only. Now...what Daisy wore would be considered covered up. My administrator had to get rid of "casual" Fridays because she couldn't make the younger set understand that it wasn't professional to wear your underwear to work (or pajamas).
