Reporting a bad advertised vendor?

The sales rep is Jackie. She has sent all of the emails with replies in them. I have no way of knowing who sent the auto-generated ones. I never got anybody on the phone.

1) Placed order
2) Emailed to inquire on ship date. No big deal. Just saw it still said "processing"
3) Received reply that it took 5 days to process an order
4) Received an email with an incorrect tracking number (was for somebody else's order)
5) Called & left message to see why I received the wrong information. Emailed a reply to credit memo email. Called again. No answer.
6) Requested that the order be cancelled and my money refunded if it wasn't going to be sent. Starting to get nervous about my money at this point.
7) Waited a day - no reply
8) March 7th - Filed a dispute with paypal
9) March 7th - Received an email later that afternoon titled "credit memo" which had an incorrect amount on it. I assumed they were refunding my purchase....sort of.
10) March 8th....a) 8:04am received a message through the paypal system that my order had been shipped. Correct looking tracking number in memo.
b) 9:06am received an email reply saying that my incubator was on backorder and they didn't know when it would be available
c) 11:53am received an email reply saying that no credit was due for my purchase

Sounds like a real pain, I googled the name of the place and 'contact us' and called the toll free number asked for the president's name (which I pm-ed) and was asked 'why' I told them a forum member was having trouble getting an order satisfied - they sounded very apologetic and wanted to know who/where- I did the best I could then, they said they were fixing the error and the tracking number was wrong but was now right.

If you would give another chance (and I might not with that much confusion) I'd demand a gift certificate and free shipping.

In general, we allow our members to post honest and helpful feedback about their interactions with any company, regardless of their advertising status on the site. With that said, we do have rules about "flaming companies, people, and organizations" that we, as a forum team, will evaluate on a case-by-case basis.

So, it is appropriate and encouraged to post your experience with vendors, but make sure to do so without emotion or a vindictive nature to ensure it doesn't cross into "flaming". If you're concerned about their advertising status you can contact me directly via PM.

(BTW, I'll move this thread since it isn't really about BYC's feedback as much as it is now about the specific vendor).
 
We'll see how the story ends. I certainly don't want to cause problems for an honest vendor, but I seriously don't want another BYC'er to have the same troubles that I have with this particular supplier. I wish there was some kind of rating system for the vendors advertised on this site. The good ones deserve high ratings....the others...not so much.

Love this idea- we have personal reputation, why not vendor rep?
 
From this thread it sounds more like they are disorganized and don't know how to run a business, rather than that they are deliberately trying to mess up their customers. Or, as someone once said, "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by incompetence."

Perhaps this will be a learning experience and they'll get better because of it.
 
Well they should be able to find this now and fix it.

Sounded like there are two or three people running the whole thing, on the phone they were pleasant and were apologetic.

They mentioned phone issues due to very few numbers of lines.

but based on the outline I saw I would be very careful ordering from them- I'd want to save my order slip and everything.

And based on reading this I'd really be willing to wait for my order.
