Before I suggest anything, I'm gonna tag a few people, so you can get their opinions also.Any advice is much appreciated I don’t want to lose this baby. 10 days ago was her last lay. I’m not sure I can find a vet for an X-ray today. I live in a rural area and I only have two chicken vets that I’ve ever found.![]()
Thank you so much! Before I suggest anything, I'm gonna tag a few people, so you can get their opinions also.
THANK YOU.... I have calcium citrate petite 400mg. Is that sufficient per day until symptoms subside? Also should I tube feed? Or will that make this issue worse? What a lovely hen. The symptoms point to a reproductive blockage, although this isn't to be taken as a concrete diagnosis, and I can't say if an egg or a tumor is responsible. An xray might be able to see it.
When there's a blockage like this, it cuts off the ceca from distributing fluids to the tissues, so dehydration is taking place. Thus her craving lots of water. Be sure she has constant access to it.
Calcium each day this issue persists, and keeping her calm and quiet and warm will all assist her in getting this resolved.
