Reproductive issues

Any advice is much appreciated I don’t want to lose this baby. 10 days ago was her last lay. I’m not sure I can find a vet for an X-ray today. I live in a rural area and I only have two chicken vets that I’ve ever found. 😢

Before I suggest anything, I'm gonna tag a few people, so you can get their opinions also.

This is my beautiful Porfina!

What a lovely hen. The symptoms point to a reproductive blockage, although this isn't to be taken as a concrete diagnosis, and I can't say if an egg or a tumor is responsible. An xray might be able to see it.

When there's a blockage like this, it cuts off the ceca from distributing fluids to the tissues, so dehydration is taking place. Thus her craving lots of water. Be sure she has constant access to it.

Calcium each day this issue persists, and keeping her calm and quiet and warm will all assist her in getting this resolved.

THANK YOU.... I have calcium citrate petite 400mg. Is that sufficient per day until symptoms subside? Also should I tube feed? Or will that make this issue worse?

Could she be getting ready to molt, or just having a break in laying? Will she take a little scrambled egg, tuna, or cottage cheese? The cottage cheese or some plain greek yogurt can give probiotics. Can you feel in her vent with a clean finger for a stuck egg? I don’t know if giving calcium if she is not egg bound is a good idea. Calcium can be constipating, but if she is still making eggs, it is probably okay to keep giving. I really am not sure about that. Hopefully, she will eat and continue to be active.

Not sure I have good advice, I have a hen in the same condition just now. She is an ex-batt. Apart from what you are already doing what I also do for support is give her a rehydration solution, something like Pedialyte, because of the diarrhea.
( If you don't have that at home you can add half a teaspoon baking soda, half a spoon sugar and a mini pinchful of salt to 250 ml water).
I hope Porfina will get better💚.
