Yup! He really is adorable! I can't tell the gender until it is older, but I'm just calling it a he for now!

He's my first reptile and I'm not sure how to go about teaching Peanut that handling isn't me trying to eat him! He also seems to be more active in the day instead of the evening! I feed him around 7:00 PM and it always seems like I'm waking him up at that time (he was walking around at 5:00 PM though!) **sigh** its confusing.

Also, is he some weird mut morph or just a light looking normal?! I keep switching between what I think! :p

Hello!!!
Yes everyone, I'm back!!

Have I told y'all that our neighbor gave us a crested gecko?! If I didn't, then.........OUR NEIGHBOR GAVE US A CRESTED GECKO!!!!!!!
I'm really happy, and a lil nervous that I'm not doing everything right, I want your guy's opinion on things, he's in a horizontal enclosure with two hides and a fake plant, he's got multiple logs to climb on and around. I feed him pangea diet powder food that I mix with water and an occasional mealworm and cricket to keep his diet varied. He's got a nice lil water dish and food dish. And the floor of the enclosure is some paper towels. I personally would like it if the enclosure stayed warmer, the lid is made of cardboard. ( that's just how we got him, I'm looking for something else to use and trying to buy a lid for it, just haven't had the chance due to all this covid crap and right now the roads are too full of snow and ice to drive anywhere LOL) he has a heater with a bulb that I think is either UV or black light, I'm not completely sure all I know is that it's warm and it gives off purple light. This is where things get a little spotty, the light, humidity and temperature and the lid. Any advice is appreciated as I am completely new to this and usually only keep spiders. I have had echo ( yes I forgot to tell you his name is echo) for about 2 months and had completely forgotten about this thread, but now I'm back and need some help. And please don't just say Google is your friend or something like that, I want first-hand advice from you guys;) (even though I will be and have been doing my own research LOL)
what a cutie!
we have had a crestie for about 4 years, they are one of the easier geckos to care for. They do not need added heat as long as your house maintains normal temperatures(65-75°). We also do not add extra lighting we just have him in a sunny location in the house. We maintain humidity by misting a couple times per day and in fact our crestie prefers to drink the mist spray over a water dish so much we actually stopped filling ours. What works really well for us for feeding is to mix the crestie powdered food into some fruit flavored baby food and to freeze that in a small round ice cube tray. (See picture) Then just pop one out at feeding time and toss it into the food dish and let it melt. This keeps the food fresh with less being wasted after mixing. (Don’t mind the ice crystals-my freezer is slowly dying)View attachment 2534434
Anyway, that’s what has been working for us anyway. Good luck with little echo!

A really great place for reptile care info and supplies is https://www.joshsfrogs.com/
I got my first megaray bulb from them (now I buy direct) and am hoping to buy some mounted plants very soon. If I had a smaller reptile like you (or owned my home) I would love to go boactive!
Yes I've seen that site!!! I think I'm signed up for it actually!!!:) I've considered bioactive, but I don't want to risk it as it's my first gecko.
