Reptile Photos! **DUW**

Hey Madison,

I forgot to tell you that there were quite a few hognose snakes for sale at the expo I went to. A mojority were males, but they were sooo adorable! They were all so active to. Seems like a lot of people were shying away because they can be tough to feed. I just couldn't get over how cute their little scrunched up faces were though.

AW MAN! Wish I could've been there.

Although I am intentionally not buying a male right now becuase I know I can find an adult normal male at any time if I really wanted to, and since my female hoggie isn't at breeding age yet, I figured it'd be smart to hold off so that I'm not having to feed an extra mouth any longer than necessary.

They had a few normal males, but the others were a real light tan color with beautiful reddish markings. Very unique coloring! They actually weren't as expensive as I would have expected either.

I just wanted to jump in and say that we are both reptile enthusiast, however in different facets. I love snakes and turtles, she loves turtles and lizards. It is bad when we go to reptiles shows since both of us encourages the other. So now we try to go with only enough money to cover admission and reptile food and supplies but some how we always walk out with something alive.
Currently we have 1 surinam red-tailed boa, argentinian boa, dumerils boa, 4 obese leopard geckos, three western painted turtles (our most recent addition), one lone dart frog and our resident shelled cow (or more properly a sulcutta toroise), chomps.
We are going to a reptile show this sunday to see what kind of trouble we can get into, I am hoping for some dart frog tadpoles. There are a few good sized reptile shows around Pittsburgh and I can give anyone the info if they are interested.
Also to anyone looking to get a reptile I highly advise to get them from a show. Not only will you save money and get a better quality animal, you will learn much more talking to a breeder than most people at a pet store. In addition every breeder I have bought of also gives me their card and says to call any time I need help or have questions.
P.S. I will have to post pics when I get a chance.

Humph! Anyone want a Rosy Boa in California?
I know they're not that hard to find, but had to throw this out there.
My mom bought her a few years ago for my brother, his wife said no.
She offered her to my son, who wants her; but not bad enough to clean his room and do his homework.
DH said cleaning his room was bare minimum requirement.

Mom is now bringing Rosie for DS. She leaves Norco in the morning, to Camarillo, then SF.
DH now says no way and if she brings it she'll have to take it back.

I'm not letting them jerk Mom around any more and want to just find a good home for the dear Boa. (she really is a sweetheart!)
I can bring her up to Santa Rosa if it's closer.

I've actually been keeping an eye out for a rosy, but I'm not anywhere close to you. :-( Unless the rosy's coming through the valley!

I use to love going to the shows. I use to buy hundreds of dollars each time I went. I sold alot of them to the local pet stores afterwards and help set up other rep lovers. Also like you said the other breeders that are there are very helpful. Most people at the pet shops have no idea what they are talking about. Unless it had four legs and fur they are clueless.

Lol, thanks my geckos are a lot fatter now than in the pictures. I just love the breeders there, they are so helpful and most time if you talk to them they can help you get your hands on some hard to find critters. Chompers is the most spoiled, especially in the summer when we fence off a nice big section of the yard for him and he get fresh veggies out of the garden, heck one whole bed is planted just for him!

I work at a mom n pop pet store and am in charge of the reptiles. I find very good homes for them since I consider them my own pets while at the store - I'm constantly turning down people that I dont think would give the animals good enough homes. If you want, I could talk to my boss and see if I could take her for you and find her a good home.

Let me know what you think.
