Reptile Photos! **DUW**

The Anaheim reptile show is really big, right? I might make the drive down for that one. That'd be fun. And I'll probably go to Sac again. But it kinda depends if I'm looking for more snakes lol. I'd like to get a pair of pewter makers, or miami motley's. But I'd prefer not to get hatchlings if possible. I'll have to see.

I believe it's the largest one in CA! Shoot! Pick me up on the way! Lol. I'm hoping my sister and her fiancé will take me, we'll see. Pewters would be awesome, but Miami motleys are AWESOME! Carrol Huddleson is who you'll want to get those from! I'm not really looking for more snakes, but I told myself if I lose a certain amount of weight by the show, I'll buy a Woma python, lol.

OMG a woma would be AWESOOOOME!
I'm going to contact Carol Huddleson and see what she has.

Heck stinkin yeah it would! They're my favorite species of snake. And I have a 6ft tank down here waiting to be filled!

if you get Miami motleys, I definitely call dibbs on one of the babies! Unless Carol wants to sell a trio and you want to sell me a female, LOL!

HEHE! I'm still waiting for her to email me back. I saw a picture of a male of hers that I absolutely adooooore. I would love to get a crazy marked one like this, and then a nicely marked female. But I bet they're all already sold... We'll see!

I use to have about a hundred or so snakes but this was always my fav. I love the way people reacted when they seen him. He was about 4 foot long and 12 buttons. After about three months I let him go in a secluded area because he seemed to be unhappy. He was wild caught so the transition should have been simple.

With snakes you can either pop their genitals out, or prob them to see how far in they go which wil ltell you if its a male or female. Lots of lizards you tell by looking at them once they get to adult size when you can see testicles etc.

Jordan, found the fresno show info. Posted it on the poultry show forum!

What kind of snake swells up and hisses at ya? when I lived in PA, I ran over a snake, [I tried to miss it] and I got out to look at it and it was blowing itself up and hissing at me. Thats been a long time ago, but Ive always wondered.

I have inherited a snake, I cant think of what kind it is right now. I was not thrilled about it at frist, but Im getting used to it now. I think its a ball python, I think. Its a boy, my SIL from FL sexed it for us. He has grown a good bit since hes been with us. We feed him live mice from the coop and barn, but we are having trouble catching them, so I have some in a tank that Im trying to breed just for the snake, these are from the pet shop. When to you move up to rats, or dont you? I was thinking about feeding it a sparrow they other day, but better half didnt think it was a good idea, so I drove 40 miles to the closest pet shop and paid 2.50 for a mouse. Crazy I thought to drive that far and pay that for a darn mouse. I thought about feeding it a chick as a treat, would that be good or not? Hes in a reptile tank that we got for a lizard, but never got, then we got this snake and he came in a little 10 gal tank, so we put him in this reptile tank, it has a heat lamp, a flosent bulb, logs, water bowl, the hole 9 yards, when we bought it, it was all ready to go for a lizard, just add lizard. I think its a 30 gal. tank. We removed the fake greenery so he wouldnt swollow any by mistake. So now this snake is growing, he is a good 2 fingers wide[thick] now, I dont know how long it had gotten since coming here, I wish now I had measured it then. Will he stop growing to the size of the tank or will we have to get a bigger tank down the road? He dont like me, he has never tried to bite me or anything, but Im the one that does ALL of the tank cleaning and feeding, and when I clean the tank, he will try his best to get away from me. I try not to touch him or anything, I let him get a whiff of me before I get in there and start moving things around. When I have him in my hands, he goes nuts trying to get away from me. I dont like to hold him, Im just not thrilled holding him, but no one else will hold him when Im cleaning the tank. I sometimes put him in a box so I have both hands to use while cleaing his tank. Im scared to death he'll get out and get one of my dogs, I have 2 chihuahuas, I know hes not big enough to eat one, but Im afriad if he got wrapped around one he could kill it. Or if he got out, the jack russel may kill him. So I put a lock on the lid. I gave him a bigger water bowl and with this one he will get in it and only have his nose sticking out. I dont understand him at times, he'll get in the water and stay for days it seems, and you wont see him anywhere near the water for days. What does that mean? He has shed once since we've had him. How ofter do they shed? When I feed him, I dont put my hand anywhere inside the tank and I dont/wont bother him for 2 days afterwards. Is that the right thing to do? What if he was to get mean and try to bite me or someone? What should I do, what can I do to stop him or change his way/s? What if he was to get hold of one of my babies[chichuahuas]? Should I try to intorduce him to my dogs or NOT? I put a goldfish in his water bowl to see if he would eat that, but he didnt. Was that good or not? Sorry so many questions. Im lost as to what to do or not do with him at times. I hope you all can help me with him so he can be as happy as can be and us as well.
