Republican Debate?

I am not speaking for the poster but in some evangelical circles Mormonism is considered a cult. Mormonism in this country has been through some radical changes and is more mainstream today. Although they still cling to some of thier past theologies they for the most part do not practice polygamy anymore although it would be accepted by the Mormon church if it were legal as an example. I know some fine mormons and they are very moralistic in thier ways. I do not hold this view of the Mormon church.

In my opinion no one president put America in the position
it is in, and no one president will have the magic cure.

Look very hard at congress, and all your elected leaders.
Understand who they are and their records.

I'm not going to endorse either party or any one candidate
on this forum. What works for me may not work for you, and
that's just fine. That's why each of us have the right to vote.

But I do watch.

And wonder.

These past few presidental elections seem to be based very
much on how a man looks for some foolish reason. The best
looking candidate gets to win.

I don't mean this to be a personal comment against anyone.
President Obama's one claim to fame will always be that he was
Americas first colored president. Granted, his mother was white.
But as an africian-american, his skin tone is light. Really, quite a
handsome man is his own way.

Now, had this same man of been of a darker skin I wonder how
many people would have changed their vote.

I voted in the last election. I did not vote for or against Obama
because of the color of his skin. Nor did I vote for or against Sarah
Palin because she is a decent looking woman.

Because those are not the type of issues we need to consider as
we prepare to vote in 2012.

We need to understand the issues. As a nation, and as individials.

Vote wisely.

I voted for Sarah Palin because she is good looking... it was the only good reason I could find to vote for any of them.

You left out Dr. Ron Paul - his voting record has been FLAWLESS, and he doesn't make promises that he can't keep. He's the ideal Republican, if their rhetoric is to be believed. The man certainly doesn't talk in circles, and his position is rock-solid.

Like I said before, though, look who is constantly censored by the press (and now Royd, apparently.

I'm joking, BTW.) and not given anywhere near the time given to joke-candidate Romney (the definition of RINO).

Ron Paul is far more a libertarian than a Republican. I agree that most of what he says is sound and would do this country good. If only he had the physical stature of Neal Boortz.

Just to clarify a someone's comment...polygamy get Mormons excommunicated. PERIOD!

I think also with over 14 million members world wide calling it a cult is a little silly, at best.

That's why I said, "If their rhetoric is to be believed." I've noticed that a lot of Republicans, once elected, promptly turn their small-government rhetoric on its head - Democrats pulled the same stunt when it came to warfare last presidential election.

Personally, when it comes to Perry, I have a hard time believe small-government rhetoric when it comes from a guy who sounds like a George W. Bush clone, rhetoric and all.

At least the Tea Party is forcing the hand of the Republican party, and most of the politicians elected under that banner, seem to, willingly, stick to their guns......Marco Rubio and Allen West are two, which come to mind. Both, potential powerhouses, for the future.

There was quite a legal battle to get this practice removed from Utah law. The Mormon Church members were the plaintiffs. I will try to find some info on it if you want me to. It took several court cases to abolish it.

Does anyone know of the individual candidates' positions on the rights of individuals to have chickens in the their own backyard?

No comment on the debate, other than it is all bull.

VOTE THEM ALL OUT.

The system is broken.

The politicians are all in it for themselves.

They cannot get anything done.

Still no budget. Just pass a continuing resolution? What?

No President can succeed without the congress working with him/her.

Pass a balanced budget ammendment -What are they thinking, I can't spend money I dont have.

Pass term limits - Being a politician should not be a career, it should be a service to your country.

Pass campaign finance, Tort reform, and a myriad of other regulations to reign things in.

We need a third party, or an independant to step up and put and end to the madness. First two years will be horrible, until you vote out the next batch of congressmen.

This country needs to get real, confront the issues from a realistic view, eliminate the Partisanship Bickering.

I am so completely tired and fed up with the entire group.

Anyone else?

OK, I feel better now.

I will put the soapbox away.
