Republican Debate?

hmm. Enough heat here, I shall keep it simple.
We need a common sense person not necessarily a republican or Dem. (well...especially not a Dem, LOL)

Ron Paul gets my vote. It would really be nice if he actually made it for the GOP nominee and took Cain with him as a running mate. Now that would be a great combo.

Anyway...I'm hoping that for the sake of the Republican Party, the Tea Party faction is taken seriously with regards to their concerns, but not their solutions. That was the point I was trying to make.

If I can get my passport back.. Buffalo is only a few hours away, I'd throw you a pint or two AE.

I agree with the basic idea of fiscal conservatism without social conservatism, and of all the Republican candidates I've encountered since I was old enough to vote (ssshhh...now is not the time for accounting), he's probably the first one that fits that. So, like I said before, if you want this registered Democrat to possibly vote Republican, you'll have to get him to win the primary...but that's not a guarantee...

I would honestly consider Ron Paul but if he ever got nominated he would get the same treatment by the media as Sarah Palin did. Sarah Palin did not get where she is today by good looks (although she has them) she is a smart woman and that is why the media and the left fear her. Ron Paul is a smart guy also but not in an electable way. I do like Cain also.

Ann Coulter is not on the left and even she gave Palin a "hard time"

I'm sorry, but I'll admit to be one of those people who really don't see what is so great about Palin. She's got plenty for the media to mock, left AND right. Ron Paul is just being ignored.

That is Ok I did not like her for her popularity. But I do believe that if she were the nominee and McCain was VP they would have won.

I don't think the two are in the same category...and that's all I'll say to avoid the temptation to Sarah-bash, being as this is a Republican thread.
