Although I am a proponent of natural incubation and i'll probably hatch some of my birds in that manner I'd like to become intimately acquainted with the construction of incubators. Unfortunately, in terms of the skills I offer on the farm they are limited to carpentry, animal husbandry, some mechanical, and grunt labor. My electrical skills are found wanting. This may be a tall order but could someone perhaps give a step by step procedural breakdown on how to build an incubator for 24 - 30 eggs or more. I'm a newbie in terms of incubating eggs and although I don't mind learning by trial by fire, I'd rather piggback off the know-how of someone more experienced. I'm looking for information on how to wire the heat lamp, fan, temperature sensor, etc. I have not come across any such specifically detailed information on backyard chicken just yet and thought that just maybe someone out there had this information at their fingertips to share with an avid poultry enthusiast and farmer. If there is such information, could someone post the link? As a teacher i'm always looking for a new learning experience and i'm thankful for this community of poultry enthusiasts and each of your areas of expertise.

Looking forward to all submissions to this thread.

Slainte mhath!
