Hey guys! I'm new to this site and to chickens in general, but this forum has given me a lot of guidance and it's been my best source, so thanks!
With that, I wanted to get some feedback on the newest guy I've rescued from my local TSC. I know it's at least 9 days old. The chick is having foot issues. He does walk on both feet some but he rests a lot and will kinda hobble about. I was wondering if it's possible bumblefoot?
The hock joint isn't swollen and both tendons seem to be in place and it does keep it's feet under it's body. I started giving him some Nutri-Drench and electrolyte water yesterday and added some vitamin B complex to feed today. Somone suggested giving it some penicillin, but I wanted to get some feedback on here first as to whether or not y'all think it's bumblefoot.
Thanks so much!

In my opinion, there is no chance of the chick having bumblefoot. The chick is obviously just a couple days old.

What may have happened is that the bone or tendon in its leg may be torn/fractured/broken. This is usually caused by trauma, and being it is a TSC chick, it most definately shipped, which is where many chicks get injured.

However, there are some genetic issues that occur where a chick can not walk properly, but based on the information you gave, I think that one of his legs is injured.

Thanks for the feed back! And my bad, I edited the post with its age and joint info. I didn't realize I had forgotten it.

The chick is 9 days to 2 weeks old, and the hock joints aren't swollen and don't look at all flat and the tendons feel to be in place. I wish I knew more about the little guys history
