Rescued chicken hen or roo?

Forgive me. You say you "rescued" this chicken - yet it was from someone's home? And that person said "she" was 6 months old? I suspect those missing tail feathers were plucked out to hide that she is a he. At 6 months old that is not a molt. I can't believe how many times I've seen that. I've even see scissor marks from clipping to hide it. She is a he! And a barnyard mix. That comb eliminates a few breeds and I don't know where that leads him.

Seriously? Just wow. That is why it is best to educate yourself about chickens and their physical characteristics so that you don't get duped.
