Hi all,
We recently rescued someone’s Easter gift chicks that they no longer want. According to what we were told, they were part of a fancy ornamental assortment from Hoover’s hatchery, and should all be some sort of polish crested. However, except for the white fluffy one, none of the others look like juvenile polish crested a to me—they were also in fairly harsh conditions before we took them, and I know polish crested chicks are notoriously fragile. I also know hatcheries tend to throw in extra chicks as “fillers” sometimes, so I wondered if these could be different breeds than the polish. Any thoughts on what breeds they might be? Should be around 8 weeks old or so…3 pullets and a cockerel.
