He seems fine. We put a branch in there for him to roost on and he seems calmer. How is the bird doing?
We have another member on here (Pigeon28) who ordered bands off of amazon which came from China with HKPA on them (probably Hong Kong pigeon association), so it's not hard to get fake bands. In fact I looked on amazon and it appears they are also selling fake bands from Netherlands, Great Britain, France, Japan etc.... I even saw fake ARPU bandsI also figured that the tag was a persons name and phone#. I looked up area code 978, just in case the 0 was really a 9. It is assigned to Massachusetts. @Old_Strain_Lover came up with a more realistic solution of it being from South Africa.
I suspect that someone swapped/exchanged bands with a fancier from South Africa, and placed then on his squabs.
Wonder if there was some funny hoax in mind like those that I read about. One was a bird from Australia, found in southeastern US. Another was a bird from Hong, Kong, or Korea (forgot which now) captured in Northwestern US.
When I was in Europe, I could have brought home a pocket full of the local bands from there.
I guess I'm not criminally minded or Hoax minded ether.
