Hi everyone. We just rescued 2 3 month old silkies about 2 weeks ago. Today I was just playing with them and I noticed there were egg like things on the feathers below her ear. I was wondering if those WERE eggs, but my mom just thought it was their new feathers growing in (They were getting attacked by adult birds). Then, I went inside. About 5 minutes later I went back to just calm myself that they weren't eggs, and I was looking for more. But then I noticed these TINY yellowish bugs crawling on the feathers, and skin of one of the silkies. They weren't everywhere- but I could find them. They are now living with my health flock of 12, and I could NEVER cull them if these bugs spreaded. Last spring I saw one on my polish daisy, and we couldn't find more so we just forgot about it. Now, since I saw a lot, I'm wondering what to do! If these were regular bugs, they would've died already? We had a little snow and freezing temp. for the last week, but today it is about 40 degrees F. Anyone know what these are?
Thanks.
Thanks.
