"rescued' yet another one... (graphic pictures)

So sorry Fishnet. I hope you're going ok. We all know you must be heartbroken.

I'm so sorry.

She was so lucky to find her way to you after all of her hardship, and to live a happy, cared-for and free life with you, even if it was shorter than it should have been.

I have no doubt that she knew she was loved! The special ones always do.

So lucky that you found them! What poor sweet babies! Our neighbors look at us crazy when I'm holding and kissing and playing with them. lol, city folk...

I'm alright... just really really heartbroken and just wondering what it was that took her. 48 hours from start to finish. 2 days from the moment I noticed something wasn't right. I buried her, said a prayer and proceeded to clean the crud out of the coop, waterers, etc. IT just really sucks. 9 months of working SOOOO hard her and I. 9MONTHS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and for something to just take her away from me with a snap of your fingers. the poor baby. She had no clue what was going on. and I had no clue what to do. I feel like I let her down even though I know I didn't.

Just wish I knew......

You really did put a lot into caring for Hope over the last 9 months. It sounds like her confidence grew with your care even if her feathers did not get the chance to fully grow back.

I know how you feel, Dee. I usually have doubts that bother me when a pet dies and feel like I should have done more.

Again, I'm so sorry... I know the feeling. Don't worry; you are a good chicken mom, I just know it. And I'm sure all of BYC will agree. She lived a good life, rescued from the horrible home that she might have died in if it weren't for you.

I know Hope is now chasing easy-to-catch bugs in the Sunny Meadow and dust bathing in the softest and finest soil next to flowering Chicken Treat plants. She has all her feathers and is grateful to you for loving her while she readied for her Rainbow Bridge crossing.

Awwwwww u guys are making me cry again. I'm ok. There are so many more that need me, i know this happens i have grown to expect it once in awile. But it still sucks. I have to remember the good times, how far we came together. I have to be strong and move on. I know i will see her again as with all the others,

But it still sucks.
