"rescued' yet another one... (graphic pictures)

Good for you and how lucky for her! Is she a Buckeye? she looks like mine. At least, as far as I can tell considering she is naked!
I dont know. She is on the petit size side. She has black on part of her wings shaded with the dark chestnut color. I have never had anything like her. I was going to say RIR. but who knows?

How about some pictures of your Buckeye to compare to?

She looked very alert and eager - I think she really enjoyed the tlc and the change of scenery. She must have thought she won Hen for a Day or something. She is a sweetheart.

she is doing great! Moved her into the coop with wtih big girls, but still in her own part and still separated from it. She had a dust bath today and loved it. She has the heat lamp on 24/7 and has a little felt coat that i made to cover her back and belly with. Temp. seems to stay at about 60 all the time with the heatlamp. Hope that is warm enough for her. There's a thread of her with her new bath video on here. It's too cute.

I am wondering how much heat do i need to keep on her? I have a 250 watt heat lamp on in the coop 24/7. It seems to be keeping it about 60 for her. She is not shying away from it, but is not hudling under it.

Will the feathers grow back in quickly? or will they wait until her next molt?

I think you will see a lot of pin feathers popping out over the next month, and then it will probably take a couple of months for them to fully grow in. It sounds like she feels pretty comfortable with that temperature. Yummy treats with some extra protein may help her with feather development. She looks happy!
