Rescuing goose from park. I would love some advice!

I will try some bread. I'm not sure it will work. The city has a big metal gravity feeder that provides an endless amount of cracked corn for the ducks.
well thats no good then, he probably has a full belly. did you try posting on your state thread for some help, you never know someone just might have the portable fencing and dog crate that will do the job.

I remember that so well. Do you ever hear anything about her? and wow that is a great drawing.

I haven't checked in with them in awhile, but she went to a very nice couple. She got to ride on the wife's lap in the front seat for the (1 1/2 hr) ride home, even though they had a huge cage with a dog bed in the back of the SUV!! Thanks for the compliment, but you must not have your glasses on!!

So, if he eats at the corn feeder, you may want to stake that out and wait for him to got there to eat before attempting the "snatch and grab". As others have said...Lowes carries white plastic posts with a spike on the bottom that you just push into the ground with your foot. They also have a green vinyl/plastic fencing that comes in 25' to 50' rolls: It is inexpensive and lightweight. The posts have slots where you can slide the fencing into it and it locks in place. You could slowly install the fence behind him while he is eating corn to block him. Then you would be able to pin him.

Although, all this would be easier with a person or two more. I sure hope you can get some help.

You definitely need some back up! I dont know if this would work, but I've read that geese dont turn down fresh water. I know he's by a pond, but what if (the next time he's near you) you brought a container and filled it with water, move the water around, I believe it would make him curious to check it out. Granted, he's not just going to let you pick him up, but you may use the water/container to draw him to the crate / carrier that you're going to use to transport him. Then you could use your helpers to usher him inside.

Maybe?

I'm feeling a bit like Wile E. Coyote. LOL! There is a handicap ramp on the gazebo with a fence for a rail. I thought I would try to walk him on to there, and my husband could catch him at the top. It angles as it goes up, so he wouldn't see my husband. I could walk him to it, but he wouldn't go on it. He flies, so when he had enough he took off.

Funny comparison, but a bummer you are having a hard time catching the goose. Temporary fence panels may be your best bet to help with that. Keep trying and good luck!
