These last couple of months, Hedgie, our hedgehog, has been declining. We thought at first that perhaps she was cold, but nothing helped her, as it was actually WHS, or Wobbly Hedgehog Syndrome. Unfortunately, it is common in hedgehogs, and there is no cure. It's a degenerative neurological disorder, so she slowly lost movement, until she couldn't open her eyes and was defecating on herself. She couldn't eat or drink on her own, either.
Yesterday, we made the hard decision to euthanize her. She was only a little over a year old.

We miss you, sweet girl. We loved you so much, and you were such a joy to our family and many others. Your funny, sweet personality, little lip smacks, and love of mealworms will forever be remembered. Rest in peace, little Hedgie.
