Restoring An Old Hen-house

OK, my weekend is over. Back to work tomorrow. I will try to get the pics of this weeks accomplishments up. Progress was not near what I had hoped as it is incredibly difficult to hang lumber by yourself. If anyone has any tips for holding boards and nailing them at the same time that would be appreciated :p

Oh yes, and esmerelda is very nicely wilted all the way up to the roof, I cannot spray the little crown of foliage above the roof, but I'll deal with that bit when I get to it. I doused her with vinegar, and next week will begin cutting and removing her. Fully armored in multi layers ofclothing, of course. I believe I shall even wear at dust mask, better safe than sorry.

Actually I just looked it up and No not Calamine. They are called Barrier Creams

This is from Wiki-how to site: http://www.wikihow.com/Prevent-Getting-Poison-Ivy-or-Poison-Oak

""Apply a barrier cream, such as Ivy Block or Stokoguard, if you know you have a good chance of exposure to poison ivy. While no vaccine or medicine has been shown to prevent reactions to poison ivy, barrier creams containing bentoquatam seem to be effective in slowing the absorption of urushiol into the skin. Apply the cream as directed, usually about an hour before potential exposure, and thoroughly wash it off within four hours, reapplying as necessary. ""

It would be good for those areas you cant protect well like your face and neck and forearms and maybe your angles and legs.

No, she is good and truly poisoned and drying up as we speak, but I will not have time to start removing her until Thursday. I actually have a tube of barrier cream from my old job. I used to work at a company assembling transmissions and the ATF was a known and registered irritant and the company provided barrier cream to those of us who worked on the quality control line because we would stay saturated in it up to our elbows all day. I'm glad you mentioned that, I should have thought of it myself.

Calamine lotion is more of a "Oops, my clothing didn't cover as much of me as I thought it would" kind of thing, lol. But I'm picking up a bottle of that as well before Thurday, just in case.
