Rhode Island Red Chick Weight

I was wondering if anyone knows how to tell if 3-4 week-old baby chicks are underweight. These girls are very very active. Flying around, chatting, eating a ton of crumble, crickets, mealworms, and grit. They have beautiful feathers coming in and fat little bottoms. However, I can feel their backbone and their keel bone.

Is it normal to feel their bones easily when they are still young? What weight in grams should they be at 3-4 weeks? When will they start to fatten up?

Their average weight seems to be 143 grams.

9-11 pounds? Even meat broilers don't weigh that much. I think you might be mistaken.

That makes more sense. Yeah my girl is around 4.5 and I'm wondering if that's underweight.

No some range is fine she will still get bigger so I would not worry
