Congrats! The first is always so exciting. So far, so good! One of my spring hatches laid her first egg this AM!
How is everyone's flock doing with these over night temperatures! My water hose froze this morning; I had to get water from the house. I hate this already.
I haven't sold any eggs currently since mine are just beginning to lay. Although, I do have 3 dozen eggs in my fridge ready to be passed out to family eagerly waiting for fresh eggs. All I can find that R.I. requires is that the grade and size be clearly marked on the cartons. I do not know if this pertains mostly if you are selling to stores? I know around my neighborhood I have bought eggs and they are simply placed in used cartons. We would usually return the carton so it could be refilled. That is what I am doing now with my own. I saved egg cartons and now just filling them up. I think we are one of the states that have no restrictions on the sale of eggs other than what I mentioned. If you find out differently, please post.Who here sells eggs? I'm wondering about RI laws and I'm having the same problem I had trying to find this thread. Lots about RIR's egg laying abilities and little about the laws in RI.
