You are blessed. YD smuggled a care package up to my mother. She has just eaten the last of our eggs we sent but OD is about to head up now restrictions are lifting so she may get some more ~ if my girls decide to lay. At present I am down to just 2 eggs every few days. :My son has been sending me gifts: first 10 hidden word puzzle books because I am sheltering in place like we are supposed to until covid dies or???? Then he sent me a dog themed word puzzle just because. He also sent me two(small boxes) of Japanese candy that he found in a store near him. First box sent me to the bathroom in a hurry- hence the need for more tp.
Today i got 4-Family Mega rolls of Cottonelle packages . I wonder if I could trade one for having the grass cut. TP is being horded our here.
He is really a great son- I wish he'd move back home. He can work from any place for his job- programmer.Oh well.
He's doing his best. I ordered groceries delivered to mom recently. She's going crazy with the stay at home order, but she's on O2 and has too many respiratory issues already. Covid-19 would be a death sentence for her. She has a frequent visitor who she's not let in the house since this started (aka walking petri dish). She (the visitor) doesn't understand social distancing and doesn't want to stay in. She's in her 50's but has the mind of a 10 yr old. She can't read and has trouble with even basic adult functions. Mom kind of adopted her when my cousin left town (he was her boyfriend, with similar issues). I told mom under no circumstances let her in the house until July. It's difficult for everyone involved, but necessary. My son has been sending me gifts: first 10 hidden word puzzle books because I am sheltering in place like we are supposed to until covid dies or???? It's a comfortable 24C here right now. Was 1C when I woke up this morning. Funny, at your temp, we went to work in Saudi wearing short sleeve shirts and the gate guard was wearing arctic wear.
We all adjust to our local climate. I've been known to run the barbi at 1C in my shorts. No way I would do that today. When we moved back to Australia from the UK, we had a whirlwind European tour in between. We went from Berlin, which was 0 degrees C (32F) to 25C (77F) in Athens. I went from a ski jacket to a sleeveless top and cargo pants. As we were walking along in the morning I was getting strange looks. I started getting a little paranoid, wondering if I was breaking some sort of taboo and whether I should go and buy a long-sleeved top. It was only when we got to the Acropolis and saw two women digging there wearing pretty much the same thing as me, that I realised what was going on. The Greeks were used to 40C (104F) heat and 25C was cold to them!![]()
Which explains a very British phenomena I could never get used to: I'd be digging out the thermal underwear & the teen girls would be parading down the street in mini skirts & bare midrifts!!!!We all adjust to our local climate. When they do that here it usually means there has been a visitor. Some mornings they are reluctant to leave the coop. The most usual reason is a hawk has been on the coop roof or a dog has been sniffing around.I went to let the girls out when I got home but instead of the mad rush out the gate we got this:
