Ribh's D'Coopage

This is Treacle pushing his luck. Cillin is on my roof watching. Treacle has at least got onto the nest this time trying to encourage Tackle to lay there. Cillin was down pretty rapid and demonstrated his displeasure in no uncertain terms.

I'm glad we don't have weasels. I think they are an interesting animal but they have some very unsavory habits!
They've only killed one hen in the last ten years. They just don't have the power to stop a moving chicken. I do get quite a few sore bums though where the weasel has got a mouthful of feathers.

It was an ugly, ugly day today. I have been vampired. Pints & pints of blood they took. 🥺 The upside was the very lovely Irish nurse who complimented me on my scarf [a made myself one 😉] & proceeded to discuss crocheted Irish lace with me to take my mind of the nasty thing she was poking in my arm. 😢

We then took a bit of a road trip to see a man about bee things. I have seen my first real bee motel! :D We will be ordering one! I can't remember if it was @LozzyR or @Aussie-Chookmum who was talking about blue banded bees, which are a solitary bee & need a bee motel ~ slightly different to the ones we saw because they nest in the ground.

However the man has 15 acres; lucky sod! :) And like so many of us keeps a variety of things going ~ including chickens! Yay team! He has just got 1/2 a dozen rescue ISAs. :( I think he badly wanted to discuss chickens with me but boats are public transport & a nightmare just now. Restrictions are eased for the shops but not for public transport so there are more people trying to travel than there are available seats. We waited 3 boats this morning...🙄 Someone hasn't thought this through properly... Travelers & crew alike are getting shirty. The man wanted to try & hit a less traveled time to avoid a long wait so we rushed off but we will be back. I'm hoping to discuss chickens as well as bees. :D
It is always a good day when you meet someone with interests like your. Perhaps a new friendship is in the works,

The roosting shenanigans continue.
We began thus: Patricia is on the left out of the picture, 2nd bar.
Lavender was roosted on the right.
Beatha was last up & still looking for a top spot when I arrived.

Ten minutes later 1/2 the flock came down when Beatha went up.
Lavender wasted no time.

Ha'penny, Wrold & Patricia had all lost out when I departed the pen. I have no idea how it all panned out in the end.

I love roosting shenanigans. Not to mention Tom Foolery.
