Ribh's D'Coopage

Sue is critical but stable and I'm a basket case. But I do finally get to see her today. After the hour and a half drive to the hospital and the five hour wait, I wasn't able to see her, but her nurse did let me talk to her on the phone. No visitors in the ER!... This morning I'll go in and get tested for COVID and once the results are negative, I'll be able to see her. So far the tests don't show where the hemorrhage came from or why. Hopefully today's tests will be more revealing. Regardless, she'll be in ICU for at least two weeks. I want to just book a room there, but the animals need food and water... So I guess I'll be commuting. Haven't yet figured out how work plays into this....
Can you get compassionate leave, Bob? I can't imagine how difficult this must be. I imagine it's difficult to get anyone to do the animals as well... :( I'm so sorry there's not more we can do to help but we're here cheering for you. :hugs

If you don't mind me asking, why can't you give them to food banks? I know answer is going to frustrate me but I have to ask.
It is apparently a Health & Safety issue. Bad eggs and all that.
The fact that they are boiled because many of the homeless don't have cooking facilities doesn't seem to matter.
The authorities have suddenly noticed they have a homeless and poverty problem and of course instantly made giving much more difficult. Instead of the usual volunteers there are now two paid workers. They never miss a chance to squeeze a few more Euros out of the poor it seems.

I hope they take good care of her. Give her rooster hugs from me and the boys.:hugs

I knew I wouldn't like it.

Its similar to a problem we have here. We have an overpopulation of deer. Every year there are fewer hunters. In order to try and control the population they let each individual hunter kill more deer each year it seems. The problem now is you can't eat that much deer meat in a year. So the hunters started donating it to food banks. The food banks loved it. So therefore the government put a stop to it. Safety reasons again.

Thanks. I think she's doing better today. She's stable and the numbers are good, but she's sleeping constantly. The docs tell me this is normal after this type of event. They have put in a drain to relieve pressure.

Hoping she continues to improve, thinking of you on the other side of the world. :hugs

Surely there's a neighbour or relative who can take on the animals for you at this time? Or a volunteer organisation? I'm thinking of Lions, Rotary and Kiwis. Surely they do community support. Is there no compassionate leave from work? A long term support arrangement might be necessary.

Really hoping your covid-19 test comes back negative :fl
