Ribh's D'Coopage

The chaos is real.
While his parents tried to get their life in order I took oldest out to the chickens.
He was perfectly happy in chicken jail doling out corn & making tentative overtures of friendship ~ not hard if you have a container of corn & hungry chickens! :lau

He will have a whole flock of close friends in short order! 😆

What features of the UK encouraged your move Shad?
A combination of things MJ.
I hope this won't offend anyone but I could see the UK adopting the worst points of America and not the better ones. Even then the anti European lobby was growing. I know the EU has lots of problems but I can't cope with the xenophobic right wing British politics.
Also, my company had gone bust a couple of years earlier and once you've been self employed, many employers are reluctant to take you on. They know you're unlikely to stay.
The people here made me an offer and the opportunity to have use of this much land and better weather, and more importantly, time to myself, even though I would be cash poor, I couldn't turn away.
I had acquired most of the things that are important to me and a lot more stuff that wasn't.
The people here were not coping for a number of reasons and I could do the things they couldn't.
Travel was cheap and easy so my friends and daughters could come out to visit and I could lead a better life with respect to those things I think are important.
