18 is an astounding age for a laptop!

It's because I don't ask it to process any big words.
It was dying 10 years ago. I stripped out the microsoft operating system and installed Linux. I'ts bee fine since. It mostly just acts as a music sever these days. Very light duties.

I go back to DOS 3.0 on the 8088 processor. Not quite as far as you.

I vaguely remember when at work we moved from something that I had to write commands with C:\> I think it was called MS-DOS?? Anyway, we moved from that to something which had what they called a GUI and I felt totally disempowered!
Now you know everything I have ever known about computers.

Now you know everything I have ever known about computers.

That was indeed the switch from MS DOS command line. C: to MS Windows 3.0. That took place somewhere around 1990. I remember it very well and not for good reasons.
