I love your scientific names. They cracked me up. Well played! 😆

We don't celebrate the start of autumn until the 22nd up here. It happens to be my youngest daughter's birthday. Do you celebrate it on September 1st down under?
We don't celebrate it. I just noticed that it was the 1st September and a beautiful day. 😊

That is all too familiar! That’s our new one as well.. for my mom since she broke her hip! And she pays hundreds of dollars a year for Life Alert.. which she refuses to wear :barnie:he
I used to work in Community Aged Care and a Life Alert type pendant once saved one of my clients from a cold and miserable death. She collapsed when she stepped out of the shower with one arm pinned under her. She couldn't move and could just reach her alert pendant which was waterproof and around her neck.

It was winter in the mountains and she was lying on ceramic tiles. By the time the ambulance got to her she was just entering hypothermia but they were able to warm her up in the hospital and luckily she wasn't injured.

She was a lovely lady, very intelligent and still with it but getting frail. She was fully conscious the whole time. Freezing to death on your bathroom floor would have been a nasty way to go.

Tell your mum this story WhoDat. Ask her to wear the pendant for your peace of mind at least!

( If the chain is bothering her, I replaced it with a soft piece of silk cord for some of my clients.)

You two are all good. I'm not a scientist so I will leave it to the pair of you to fight it out. It just seems to me the whole world has gone completely mad & I blame the media for a lot of it. I think @ some point we have to decide we're going to live, not live in fear. None of us are vouchsafed tomorrow. There are no guarantees in this life except one: we will all die @ some point. Therefore we should make the most of what time we have. A simple philosophy but having done all we sensibly can, it's time to get on with it.

Seeing some of the people currently in power I find it strangely comforting that everyone dies eventually. :hmm

The 1st of September is Wattle Day in OZ. http://www.wattleday.asn.au/

There you go ByBob. I'm not a true blue enough Ozzie.

While we're @ it, could whoever paid for a Premium Feather membership for me fess up? I've been sick *sniffle, sniffle* & it's been doing my head in because I couldn't figure out what was going on & I know I didn't pay for it, PM me if you prefer, but for pity's sake put me out of my misery!
Did anyone fess up?

Have you seen the aboriginal seasons on the BoM website? It's really interesting!

Here's one with six seasons. But there's only four in Kaurna country where I live.
I saw a different Aboriginal 6 season calendar recently.

Makes a lot more sense than imposing the European calendar on our country.
