Richard Scarry is the best!

My eyes get very tired very quickly these days. :)
Mine do as well, but I just take a break and do it again 🤷. I will say I need to get new glasses when all my other issues settle down. I have always enjoyed reading. I would read just about anything, now I really don't read as much as I should.
I've been listening to audio books lately.

I find that if I'm doing some boring repetitive chore it helps me through it and I can enjoy a good book at the same time. 🥰

I'm glad you were brave enough to speak up Whodat. I prefer children's and Young Adult fiction too.

I often find adult fiction and literature to be frustrating or depressing ...or both! (I'm looking at you Wuthering Heights!) :th

Me too - I have a whole childrens books bookshelf that I dip into now and then. I don't know if any of you are familiar with the British painter called Brian Wildsmith - he did a lot of illustrations for kids books and I have quite a collection and I love all of them.
I just looked him up. Such bright and cheerful illustrations. They make me smile. 🤗

Eeeeeeeee :ya..... me too!
And my favorite thing was to read to my children! I would read multiple books a day and I would even sing some of the books in “opera” and they would all sit quietly... apparently my “opera” didn’t make them sick :gig.... btw, I CANNOT sing😳
I've been collecting fairy tales for some time and still have a lot of my favourite books from when my kids were little, as well as some from my own childhood.

I love P.J. Lynch's illustrations. Many of his heroines have red hair which I am rather partial to. 🥰

And I am grateful to know all of you and learn from you as well!
Ditto!

What is swelling Sue?
My feet and legs from water retention 😞 if I don't sit with them up all day, they swell 😩

That's awesome 😍 I'm like you give me a children's or young adult book and I'm happy :) Don't feel alone on not being able to sing, I work with little kids and they truly don't care what you sound like.

I do the same with podcasts! And lately, to get through a work day I’ve been listening to cheesy poppy 80s music. I think it gives me a serotonin boost. 🤪

I’m still working my way through the essay at the beginning. ;)
