I thought she might for a while... She's still my biggest escape artiste but I think she just likes to show me she can because she comes running just like everybody else when I show up & promptly hops back where she belongs.

I love spending time with my flock! I like to inspect their pen and the majority of them are under my feet as they follow me around, it's so cute! I want to set up a bench out there, but haven't done it yet!

That's probably what I should do...I'd have to put something over the bench to keep it clean...yes chickens are messy, but you didn't already know that!

I remember that - it is a really clever idea. I looked to see if I could do that in The Chicken Palace run, but I use most of the posts to hang feeders so my space is more in the middle.
I have one stool and made a lid for it so the chickens sit on the lid and I remove it when I want to sit down.
But now I have a better solution. Due to some delivery mess-up I have an excess of rubber feed bowls and I am using them as covers for tree stumps. It works brilliantly to keep a tree stump clean for me to sit on in each part of The Palace.

A little bit of rain & the yard has burst into life.
We have tadpoles.
Big, juicy, fat tadpoles.
They are living here...I'm surprised the girls haven't gone fishing...

And I am walking through clouds of Caper White Butterflies, which have migrated to breed.
I couldn't capture the clouds on my phone but here are 2 on my white wisteria...

They are beautiful. I can't imagine walking through a cloud of them. That must be so cool!

I love having butterflies in my yard. I have tried to plant to encourage them, bees, and hummingbirds to come and visit.
