Meanwhile Beatha was screaming @ both of them & pecking away so she could get in the box to lay.There is trouble brewing thanks to those 2. The flock is pissed.

Yep. I keep them topped up but they'll just hop right in if need be. I'm more worried about the water. I'd raised the tray to try & keep the mulch out & the bricks do give them a perch but I think I need to lower it & just deal with the mulch.
It's a bit slippery too. How about putting a tree stump under the end with a few bricks to go hop, hop, hop down? It doesn't seem safe enough for the littlest.Leaving the coop this morning.

The ramp is too steep but even with the lower end raise on bricks it is still pretty steep.
I was not expecting that! The thick leaves around the tree provide a very gentle and bouncy landing. It's wonderful how the different species have adapted to their environments.
