Also, update on Vinny Barbarino.. I think he is trying to come into his own.. I will hear a chicken screaming her head off (I’ve seen him grab his sister by the back of the neck and pull her) and so I go running only to see Vinny and either one of the middles or one of his Cochin sisters fighting him and then they will chase him down and peck him!! They are NOT having any of his nonsense! And I believe he must know better than to try it with one of the big gals! He might get killed... although I’d love to see that return fire ...

Dinner was lovely except i overcooked the broccoli Something always goes amiss when I'm the cook

But the chit chat was awesome and I cracked open a 7 year old red from Margaret River, it was amazing!

V worried about the foxes coming back. As long as the chooks are in the big coop, they should be safe. I doubt a fox can dig through the galv mesh floor. And I over-did it when I wired the mesh floor to the coop walls. And the walls and roof are v sturdy.

I'm thinking side fences may be called for w this year's tax refund. There are none at present, so dogs n foxes can wander all the way around the house, which is not good.

Lots of rain down here today. How're things up your way?

@WhoDatChick Vinny's looking awesome! I'm surprised you've got a bonfire going in summer! It is a great way to clear up bits of wood, so hypnotic. I guess you must live some distance from anywhere a bushfire might start I worry about bushfires

You know how it is when you have a project on: either you have money or you have time. Well, the money is getting low again so I am back doing home business stuff to generate income but I also started the rug for my girl in Chile ~ which I will not post over! She will have to collect it when she is home on furlough but she likes to know we are thinking of her! It is wet here & alternating between hot & cold which makes it difficult to decide if we need the fire or not. Mostly not during the day but we light it late afternoon before it gets really cold. Curry in the slow cooker ~ but it needs to get a hurry up now!

I can't drink red ~ or even a lot of whites. Migraine material. I can however do brandy, Irish cream whiskey, Tia Maria...yep. I'm expensive!

White spirits always leave me feeling quite neat and tidy. Same with white wine and good reds. Anything else and I'm a horrid mess for a day or two hahaha!

How are your girls growing?

My 2 babies are getting on well with Deana and are foraging side by side, but if they get too close to Tsuki she will chase them and peck!
They are sleeping in separate coops and I thought I'd try and put them together tonight after dark. Well...
I popped the 2 big girls on the perch next to the littlies and there was a great kerfuffle!
Now the littlies are hiding in the nesting box, Deana is on the floor and Tsuki stands alone and victorious on the perch!

Honestly ladies, there's enough room for all of you to snuggle together against the winter chill! I'm thinking of taking the photo of all your chooks on their perches to show them Ribh. "Look! See? This is how it's done!"

It looks like Alice has joined Deana on the floor behind the perch. Edwina is still hiding in the nesting box
