It's just me and Hen-Rietta tonight. (I bought a special chicken treat for the birds to give tomorrow morning.) I will have a great Christmas morning (Me and my beloved birds)

Bob, I went to the barn/coop to tuck the birds in... She wanted more. Jumped off her perch on to my shoulder, so what's a chicken daddy to do? yes I took her inside. She's so sweet and gentle (Never pecked my hand hard at all)

To my defense. Some people have dogs or cats who snuggle with them at night. Seems that that’s an acceptable practice. But when I mention I have a pet chicken, everyone starts to judge my sanity! Too darn late, I have been judging my sanity since I got these beautiful ladies!

People say that leghorns are flighty and scared to be touched, well ... I must have broken the norm with my feathered friends, because my whole family of birds love to be held, and spend such quality time with me.

There were plans to meet some of my family in Barcelona just after Christmas but what with the travel restrictions etc.....
